(1) Glass material
Selection and Processing
Screen printing is suitable for various types of glass, including ordinary flat glass, tempered glass, laminated glass, etc. Different types of glass require targeted treatment before printing due to differences in chemical composition and physical properties. Firstly, cleaning is carried out by using deionized water and specialized glass cleaning agents to remove oil, dust, and impurities from the surface of the glass using an ultrasonic cleaning machine, ensuring a clean and residue-free surface; Next, drying is carried out using hot air drying or infrared drying to completely dry the glass surface and avoid moisture residue affecting ink adhesion. For glass with excessively smooth surfaces, it is necessary to perform polishing or sandblasting treatment to increase surface roughness and enhance the adhesion between ink and glass.
(2) Screen printing production
Choosing the appropriate screen is the key to plate making. Considering the requirements for accuracy and scratch resistance in glass printing, stainless steel screen or high mesh polyester screen is usually selected. The plate making process is similar to conventional screen printing, but strict control of exposure time and intensity is required in the exposure stage to prevent blurred edges of graphics and text due to insufficient exposure, or blocked mesh due to excessive exposure. At the same time, according to the complexity and accuracy requirements of glass printing patterns, the coating thickness of the photosensitive adhesive is adjusted. Generally, high-precision patterns require a thin and uniform photosensitive adhesive coating.
